Renewable Energy Solutions
Hayat Gaza Company worked on introducing Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology to the Gaza Strip, a technology that relies on solar thermal concentration to heat water to the point of evaporation, in order to operate a steam turbine that runs 24/7. The technology was selected from the American company GOSSAMER in collaboration and partnership with the Jordanian company ACCELERATED ELECTRONIC SERVICE. The project’s implementation was discussed with a representative from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in two Zoom meetings. Approval was also obtained from the Gaza Energy Authority to build an initial 10 MW plant, with plans to expand it to 20 MW after the first phase is completed.
The Electricity Distribution Company is set to purchase the plant’s output for 20 years. Hayat Gaza Company has been in contact with the manufacturer, partners, and investors to renew the offer, which will be presented to the responsible authorities for the reconstruction of Gaza in order to obtain approval to build the plant, addressing the sector’s energy needs after the destruction of all energy facilities during the war.
